The Next Big Thing Week 10

Thanks, Denise, for the tag 🙂

What is the working title of your book?

‘Maid of Sherwood’

Where did the idea come from for the book?

While there are many stories about Robin Hood, I hadn’t seen any written from Maid Marian’s point of view. As a result, I thought it would be fun to write one 🙂

What genre does your book fall under?

YA fiction or YA fantasy. I’m not 100% sure which, to be honest.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Haven’t a clue.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

When Marian meets a  mysterious man in Sherwood Forest, she is drawn into a web of deceit which leads to Nottingham Castle and changes everything she thought she knew about her life and family.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

I’m toying with both, but leaning toward agency rep at this time.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

30 days. It was a Nano novel.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I’m not sure.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

My husband, who firmly believes in my talent.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

I’ve twined the Robin Hood legend around the Arthurian legend, and transposed some characters from that into this tale.

And now it’s my turn to do some tagging:

Rules:

***Answer the ten questions about your current WIP (Work In Progress)

***Tag five other writers/bloggers and add their links so we can hop over and meet them.

It’s that simple.
